My role, at Etheridge Dentistry, is one of “wearing many hats”. I am considered the Chief Financial Officer, so that means I handle much of the day to day operations; which permits my husband to focus on patient care and planning. My other responsibility is filling in for our three hygienists, our assistant, and front office when needed.
Continuing education is always on my list. We are continually learning and what a great way to keep oneself informed of the newest material, techniques and sometimes changes to how we advise our patients.
Education is extremely important and I have a passion for helping when and where I can. I enjoy going to the elementary school and educating the children about their oral health. It is amazing to hear and see what they have remembered year after year and it allows me to build on that.
I have 4 beautiful children and in my spare time I enjoy swimming, golfing, crafting, and sewing.
I graduated in 1996 from Loy Norrix High School, then attended Michigan State University for a short time but decided to come back to Kalamazoo. I attended Kalamazoo Valley Community College where I earned my Dental Hygiene degree in 2002. I began my hygiene career subbing for a short time in dental offices as well as had a permanent position in Kalamazoo for a year after I graduated. I then joined the Etheridge Dentistry team in 2003. It’s been a wonderful experience working for Dr. Etheridge and being able to be a part of his team and growing practice.
My husband and I live in Kalamazoo along with our 5 boys. We enjoy doing things as a family and our kids keep us moving, which I love. In my free time I love to run, read, and work outdoors.
My husband, Jack, and I were married in 2007. I have two stepsons, Cody and Gaige. Together, Jack and I have two more boys, Westin and Parker. They keep me very busy, but when I do get a free moment I enjoy reading, gardening, and photography.
I love my career choice in dental hygiene where I get to connect on a personal basis with my patients of all ages. I have been a Dental Hygienist for over 25 years where I have worked both in South Carolina and in Michigan. I graduated from Ferris State University in 1985. In addition I have received my certification in Local Anesthesia and Nitrous Oxide Sedation.
Over the years I have met many wonderful patients who I continue to enjoy educating in their dental care. I am dedicated to staying current with the latest technology in the dental field. I strive to keep our office environment comfortable and friendly so that our patients are satisfied with their treatment.
I have been married to my husband, Ken, for over 25 years and we have two children, Kaila and Gunnar. I enjoy reading, walking, and camping in my spare time.
I have been a dental assistant since 2006 and I absolutely love it! I began assisting for my father who is a general dentist when I was 16 years old. He did in office training with me and I was immediately hooked. After I graduated high school I became a full time surgical dental assistant for my sister, who is a periodontist. While working for her and her partner, I became certified in dental radiography and furthered my training in her office. I truly enjoy getting to know patients and helping them feel comfortable in the dental chair. I grew up on the east side of the state in Farmington Hills. I married my husband in January, 2015! He works for H&H farms in Vicksburg so I followed him to the west side of the state where we moved to Portage. I feel so fortunate that I am able to continue my career in dentistry with Etheridge Dentistry. They are a great team to work with and I couldn’t have asked for a better practice to join. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, boating, hunting, fishing and going up north.
I have worked in the dental field for over 10 years as a scheduling coordinator and insurance/account specialist. I love being part of a great team, helping people obtain healthy, beautiful smiles.
My husband and I live in the Battle Creek area with our two boys, Landon and Levi. Sports and extracurricular activities keep us very busy. In our free time we enjoy being up north riding the trails, fishing, swimming, campfires and spending time with our families.
