Our Dental Technology – The Drufomat Scan
Etheridge Dentistry has invested in technology that helps our patients with needed appliances. For those individuals who have children or themselves, that have completed orthodontics, we all understand the occasional loss of a retainer. We now have the ability to quickly replace a retainer with a clear aligner, which we can fabricate here at our office. If there is a question about tooth movement, then we would definitely recommend visiting with one of the great orthodontic offices that we trust our patients to. This same machine permits us to also fabricate a very high quality athletic mouthguard for our patients. It is as simple as our team capturing an impression “mould” of your teeth and then creating a mouthguard. Occasionally, we have accidents that cause a broken tooth. When the tooth is in an area that is visible, we can fabricate a temporary appliance to replace the broken tooth. This enables our patient to continue with their day to day activities, while receiving treatment from our surgical partners. The above mentioned services were ones that we had to send out and it would take our dental lab professionals days to fabricate. Now, we can offer these services and often turn these around in a day or less, depending on some of the circumstances involved. The Drufomat Machine is another investment in technology that is improving our patients’ treatment.

Cone-beam computerized tomography (CBCT) provides information not available when using traditional x-rays. It gives our practice the most innovative technology to help Dr. Etheridge diagnose potential issues more accurately and provide treatment with unprecedented confidence. It also aids in treatment planning as it helps us to better explain the particulars of your case, as well as thoroughly address any questions you may have.
The NewTom GO system enables us to perform a wider range of diagnoses and treatments in our office, helping to reduce multiple visits and cost. The NewTom GO scanner allows us to choose the field of view or scanning area that best suits your specific treatment needs.
